What, Why and How to detox?
Full Body Detox plan. Dos and don’ts of a January detox.
It is January again, which means you will be hearing lots of people talking about DETOX.
Detox is a popular buzzword and often used wrongly.
It typically implies following a specific diet or using special products that claim to rid your body of toxins.
These claims are often misleading or without any benefits to the body at all.
Let’s take an example from Harvard Health publishing.
“A seemingly infinite array of products and diets is available for detoxifying the entire body. One of the most popular is the Master Cleanse diet, favoured by a number of Hollywood celebrities. Dieters take a quart of warm salt water in the morning; consume a 60-ounce concoction of water, lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper throughout the day; and finish with a cup of laxative tea in the evening. Proponents of the Master Cleanse diet recommend adhering to it for at least 10 days.
Purpose. To restore energy, lose weight, and relieve symptoms of chronic conditions like arthritis and fibromyalgia.
Evidence of effectiveness. There is no data on this particular diet in the medical literature. But many studies have shown that fasts and extremely low-calorie diets invariably lower the body's basal metabolic rate as it struggles to conserve energy. Once the dieter resumes normal eating, rapid weight gain follows. Much of the weight loss achieved through this diet results from fluid loss related to extremely low carbohydrate intake and frequent bowel movements or diarrhoea produced by salt water and laxative tea. When the dieter resumes normal fluid intake, this weight is quickly regained.”
This is why I was inspired to write this article. I want to help you stop wasting your money and invest in your health in a long-lasting and effective way.
What is a detox? What is not detoxing…
Detoxification is the bodily process of removing toxic substances. Our main detoxification organs are the liver and kidneys, with your lymphatic system, digestive tract, skin, and lungs also playing a huge part in how your body detoxes. Luckily our body is well equipped and designed for the job of detoxing. We just need to provide it the right environment and fuel so that it can do its job properly!
Unfortunately due to popular trends, short detoxes and quick fix solutions have become very popular in the past couple of years. These quick fix detoxes, often do nothing to educate and or promote long term good heath, but in fact promote the “dieting culture” even further, with detox diets turning into another form of yo-yo dieting. Optimal health comes from a slow, steady and methodical approach to changing habits. This is exactly what I offer and promote in my signature programme 6-Week Gut Renew Programme™.
This is The ONLY Online Gut Recovery Programme that helps you say GOODBYE to "digestive issues" for good!

What are we detoxing from?
Toxins fall into two main categories: Endogenous (meaning from within or internal) and Exogenous (meaning environmental or external).
Endogenous toxins include:
Toxins and metabolites produced by bacteria within the body.
Urea, and waste products from microbes in the gut that occur during natural metabolism.
Exogenous toxins: (come from outside the body and are introduced by eating, drinking, breathing and absorbed through the skin):
Eating: Food — chemicals such as pesticides and heavy metals consumed through food due to agricultural practices and environmental contamination. Overconsumption of processed foods, food dyes, preservatives, drugs, and alcohol.
Drinking: Drinking Water — tap water contaminated with pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals (lead, mercury, arsenic), and chemicals from agricultural run off.
Breathing: Outdoor air — pollutants in the air including exhaust, tobacco smoke, vape vapour, particles from industrial emissions, etc. Indoor air – pollutants trapped in the air including mould, tobacco smoke, chemicals released from cooking, furniture, carpet, construction materials, etc.
or toxins that are absorbed through the skin like household products — food containers, cleaning products, fertilisers, weed killers, bug spray, beauty products, hair products, make up, deodorants…

The solution - The Full Body Detox plan….
In 2021 I have worked very hard to put together a master programme that helps promote healthy long-lasting detoxification and enhanced immune function. I learnt from my own health journey that the key to ensuring these pathways and systems work effectively is to rectify and restore imbalances within the gut.
This master program is now open.
As an award winning and qualified Holistic Wellness Doctor of 15 years. My success comes from addressing the root cause of your health challenges NOT just masking the symptoms, and this is where my passion lies.
The truth is, quick detox programmes, miracle cures and quick fixes don’t work long-term…..ever.
When it comes to health we are ALL INDIVIDUALS so what works for one person may not work for another. The truth is that there is not a one-size-fits-all solution for gut dysfunction either! This is why I created my 6-Week Gut Renew Programme™ which takes you through an easy step-by-step process to discovering what triggers and what tames YOUR gut.
So WHY is this programme different?
My 6-Week Gut Renew Programme™ has been specifically designed to help YOU uncover and learn which foods SERVE your individual constitution and which ones are likely HARMING YOUR BODY. My 6-Week Gut Renew ™ helps take the confusion and uncertainty out of which foods are friends and which are foe......for YOU!

There is a wealth of information on the internet and multiple books and resources on healing your gut available. If you don't mind putting the time and energy and money into trial and error then yes you can do this yourself.
As someone who has personally spent thousands of pounds over the years on different gut healing, detoxification approaches, supplements, specific diets, treatments and tests for my own healing.....I can tell you it can be exhausting, costly and very demotivating when you just don't get the results you hoped for!
This is the reason why I designed my 6 Week Gut Renew Programme ™ to take the stress, hassle and cost out of the trial and error process.
What does it involve?
My Online Gut Renew Programme ™ has been developed in an easy-to-follow, step-by-step process guided by me, that will not only inspire you with the knowledge of how to help yourself but also gives you the tools to know how to support those closest to you’s health too.
