I have managed to help another client feel and function better again.
Welcome to a new segment of my blog. Case Studies!
I want to dedicate this blog segment to share my client’s stories and successful healing journeys (of course ensuring their confidentiality). When I approach a clients case I first of all carry out a detailed and systematic investigation of their health and previous medical history. This helps me gain a deeper understanding of the varying factors that may be playing a role in their current health concern and what specific tests or investigations that may be helpful in helping them find a solution to their complaint, so that they may heal from their symptoms.
Each client is approached as an individual, and any health concerns and or any symptoms are ALWAYS taken seriously. Bodies are complex but very intelligent, and I learnt a long time ago on my own personal health journey that just because some tests may come back as “normal” or “within range” doesnt necessarily mean there isnt a problem. Sometimes we just need to look from another angle!
Patient:
The lady (42-year-old) came to me with the following symptoms:
Irregular uterine bleeding
Increasing fatigue and dizziness
Irregular heartbeat (tachycardia)
Cold hands and feet
Headaches
Not a typical weight loss or food intolerance client.
I immediately recommended some specific lab tests so we could get a deeper understanding as to the underlying issues.
I also recommended my client seek advice from her GP!
Discussion and conclusions:
After receiving the test results we learnt that my client had a vitamin and micronutrient deficiency, leading to a mixed picture of iron deficiency.
I could then confidently guide my client to make changes to her lifestyle and recommended the correct supplementation routine for her age, weight, and also specific dietary requirements.
Ongoing Functional medicine care:
Diseases and other acute or chronic inflammatory diseases can interfere with the production of red blood cells. Anemia (iron deficiency - Anemia is a condition in which you lack enough healthy red blood cells)
We will be focusing on reducing inflammation, eating a healthy, varied diet, and supplementation.
